Ingredients
6 slices bacon
1 large onion chopped
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp white sugar
3 tsp caraway seeds
2 tsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp seasoning salt
1 large head of cabbage cut into small wedges
1 pound Polish kielbasa sliced

Sugar: Honey or maple syrup
Caraway Seed: Fennel seeds
Polish Kielbasa: Any smoked sausage
Directions
- Fry bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the bacon drippings, saute chopped onions with water, sugar, caraway seeds, garlic, red pepper flakes, and seasoning salt.
- Add cabbage wedges to skillet, stir to coat with seasoning mixture, cover and cook on medium for 10-15 minutes until tender.
- Place kielbasa slices in skillet among cabbage, cover, and continue cooking for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve cabbage and kielbasa topped with crumbled bacon.
